20 minutes east of downtown Asheville
Keep in mind you may not have cell/GPS service once you leave the interstate, so please save these directions. If you plan to taxi be sure to arrange your pickup ahead of time.
From Asheville take 240E to I-40E toward Statesville. In 6.2 miles, take exit 59 for Swannanoa.
As you exit the highway, turn left onto Patton Cove Road, then right onto US-70E. In .3 miles, take a left onto Whitson Ave, then turn right onto Old US Hwy 70. In 1.8 miles, turn left onto Lake Eden Rd, then take the second left onto Clover Lane (signs for NC State Veterans Home and NC Forest Service).
Drive .5 mile to the parking area on the left, just before a two-story brown building on the right with a small sign saying “Mountain View Lodge.”
