Morel season runs for about four weeks sometime between March 15th and May 15th (in other words, for the month of April, give or take two weeks).
This tour is guided by Alan, our CEO, and meets 25 minutes from downtown Asheville. This tour lasts six to eight hours. Although we only cover about two miles, some stretches are moderately steep; others contain a fair amount of poison ivy. We recommend that those with physical limitations or children join our Foraging tour, which generally covers no more than 1/2 mile over flat ground.
The day after your tour, you can opt to have some of Asheville’s best chefs turn your foraged finds into a gourmet appetizer.
$125/person. Tour requires a minimum of 4 participants — and a chance for morels — to run. If neither one appears likely by five days before, we will postpose until the following week. If you are unable to reschedule, we will issue a refund. Private tours of this location are also available (minimum group size may apply).

“So informative , fun, and found tons of morels + ramps! Alan is a master! My husband and I took this tour 2 years ago, and we enjoyed it so much that, unbeknownst to each other, we each bought the other a gift certificate for Christmas! And the 2nd time was even better than the 1st!”
