25 minutes north of downtown Asheville.
Keep in mind you may not have cell/GPS service once you leave the interstate, so please save these directions. If you plan to taxi be sure to arrange your pickup ahead of time.
From Asheville, take I-26W (north) towards Weaverville. In about ten miles (with the exit numbers decreasing), take exit 15 (NC 197 towards Jupiter/Barnardsville). Turn right onto NC 197N/Barnardsville Highway.
In 6.6 miles (half a mile after passing through the small “main street” of Barnardsville with the post office on the left), turn left onto White Pine Drive – look for the “Hawk Parking” sign – and park in the field. Your guide will meet you there.
