Catawba Falls Directions

Also make sure you have enough time to get there.
Our outing will be at Catawba Falls, about 45 minutes east of downtown Asheville. We meet on site. Do not rely on your GPS until you make sure it matches these directions or you will very likely get lost. Also keep in mind that once you leave the interstate, you will probably NOT have cell phone signal. You may not have GPS reception either. So make sure you print or save these directions beforehand and follow them precisely.
These directions are from Greenlife Grocery (our local Whole Foods). We recommend buying snacks or even a picnic lunch for after the tour, as well as “using the facilities” while you’re there.
Finally, if you’re planning to bring some of our “catch of the day” to one of our partner restaurants, you MUST make a special reservation (see here).
DIRECTIONS
Catawba Falls Trailhead Parking Lot
530 Warren Mountain Dr, Old Fort, NC*

From Greenlife Grocery, take Merrimon Avenue toward downtown, then turn left to get onto 240E/US 70E. In 3.7 miles, use the left 2 lanes to merge onto I-40E toward Statesville. In 19.7 miles, take exit 73 for Old Fort.
Before the exit ramp ends, take the right hand turn onto Catawba Falls Rd. Drive 3 miles to the end of Catawba Falls Rd. Go over the bridge to the large parking area. We will meet at the trailhead.
