From Asheville, take 240E to I-40E toward Statesville. In 6.2 miles, take exit 59 for Swannanoa. As you exit the highway, turn left onto Patton Cove Road, then right onto US-70E. In .3 miles, take a left onto Whitson Ave, then turn right onto Old US Hwy 70. In 1.8 miles, turn left onto Lake Eden Rd, then take the second left (at signs for NC State Veterans Home and NC Forest Service) onto Clover Lane.
Drive .5 mile to the parking area on the left, just before a two-story brown building on the right with a small sign saying “Mountain View Lodge.” Your guide will meet you there.
