Morel and Ramp Tour

Quick Details

From :
$ 175

A more strenuous but rewarding hike on a 350-acre private preserve.

Morel season runs for about four weeks sometime between March 15th and May 15th (in other words, for the month of April, give or take two weeks). If all listed dates are at capacity, contact us to join our wait list.

This tour meets 25 minutes from downtown Asheville, and lasts five to seven hours. Although we only cover about two miles, some stretches are moderately steep; others contain a fair amount of poison ivy. We recommend that those with physical limitations or children join our Foraging tour, which generally covers no more than 1/2 mile over flat ground.

The day after your tour, you can opt to have some of Asheville’s best chefs turn your foraged finds into a gourmet appetizer.

$175/person. Tour requires a minimum of 4 participants — and a chance for morels — to run. If neither one appears likely by five days before, we will postpose until the following week. If you are unable to reschedule, we will issue a refund.

“the memory is indelibly engraved in my heart”

“What an amazing day rambling in a magical food forest with guides Christian and June… the location is incredible”

“So informative, fun, and found tons of morels + ramps! Alan is a master! My husband and I took this tour 2 years ago, and we enjoyed it so much that, unbeknownst to each other, we each bought the other a gift certificate for Christmas! And the 2nd time was even better than the 1st!”
