Herb Mountain Farm

IF YOU USE GPS, MAKE SURE IT GOES TO THIS LOCATION.

Also make sure you have enough time to get there.

Our outing will be at Herb Mountain Farm about 25 minutes north of downtown Asheville; see directions and Google map below. Note that there are no pets allowed. Also, please do not rely on your GPS until you make sure it matches these directions or you will very likely get lost.  Finally, keep in mind that once you leave the interstate, you will probably NOT have cell phone signal. You may not have GPS reception either. So make sure you print or save these directions beforehand and follow them precisely.

If you have any trouble and do have signal or can get to a phone, call the office at 828-209-8599. If there’s no answer, we may be on the line with someone else. Leave a message and we will return your call within 10 minutes.

These directions are from central Asheville, specifically, from Greenlife Grocery (our local Whole Foods).

We recommend buying snacks or even a picnic lunch for after the tour, as well as “using the facilities” while you’re there. There will not be a bathroom available on site.

Finally, if you’re planning to bring some of our “catch of the day” to one of our partner restaurants, you MUST make a special reservation (see here). See you in the woods!

DIRECTIONS

87 Maney Branch Rd, Weaverville

Head south on Merrimon Ave towards Orange Street. Take I-240W about a tenth of a mile to 19-23N/I-26W (north) towards Weaverville. In about four miles (with the exit numbers decreasing), take exit 21 (New Stock Rd). At the bottom of the ramp, turn right. At the light, there will be a Citgo across the street. This is Weaver Road. Make a left.

Go .8 miles to next light and turn right onto Reems Creek Road. Go 6.8 miles and make a slight left, crossing a bridge, onto Maney Branch Road. Go about a mile to #87 on the right (at the “Buchi” sign). Turn in, take the right turn before the house on the right, and there will be a couple spaces for cars on the right (see aerial photo below).
