Old Fort

December 22nd, 2012

On the first day after the end of the world as we knew it, fifteen intrepid eaters braved the cold for a winter solstice walk to a beautiful waterfall just outside of Old Fort, NC. An account of the outing appeared in the Spring 2013 issue of The Oxford American. After cooking up wild oyster mushrooms at the falls, a few participants continued on to the upper falls. That evening, some participants enjoyed the rest of our 'catch of the day' at Zambra Restaurant. Here's what we found and images from the day.
